Sunday Tours of Aaron Draper Shattuck's Collection at Salmon Brook Historical Society August 25th, September 29th
At the Salmon Brook Historical Society, you can view 17 original paintings by Aaron Draper Shattuck along with fascinating family memorabilia. In 1870, Shattuck purchased a 28-acre farm in Granby, where he raised prize-winning sheep and cows. Deeply inspired by the rolling hills, meandering streams, and farmland of the Farmington Valley, he continued to paint and invent, capturing the essence of the landscape he cherished. This exhibit offers a unique opportunity to explore both his artistic creations and the personal artifacts from his life.
